18650 Rechargeable Battery

The 18650 Rechargeable Battery is a cylindrical lithium-ion battery used in compatible electronic devices, including certain regulated vaping devices and battery-powered accessories. The 18650 designation refers to the battery's approximate dimensions of 18mm in diameter and 65mm in length. Battery capacity, discharge rating and other electrical specifications vary by manufacturer and model.

18650 batteries are available in different capacity and discharge configurations. Devices that use removable 18650 batteries may require one or more cells, depending on their design. Battery selection should be based on the device manufacturer's requirements, including battery type, discharge rating, polarity and physical compatibility.

Device Compatibility

18650 batteries are used in various electronic devices designed to accommodate this battery format, including:

• Compatible single-battery vaping devices
• Compatible dual-battery vaping devices
• Electronic devices specifically designed for removable 18650 lithium-ion cells

Not all 18650 batteries are interchangeable. Compatibility depends on the device's electrical requirements, battery dimensions, terminal configuration and supported discharge characteristics.

Battery Specifications

Battery capacity is generally measured in milliampere-hours (mAh), while discharge capability is expressed in amperes (A). These specifications vary between battery models and should be verified using the manufacturer's published ratings.

Some devices require flat-top batteries, while others may support button-top configurations. Protected and unprotected 18650 cells can also differ in physical length and electrical characteristics.

Battery Handling and Storage

• Use only batteries that meet the device manufacturer's specifications.
• Inspect the battery wrap and insulating ring before installation.
• Do not use batteries with damaged wraps, exposed metal or visible physical damage.
• Store loose batteries in a suitable protective case to prevent contact with metal objects.
• Do not carry loose batteries in pockets or bags with keys, coins or other conductive materials.
• Use a charger compatible with the battery's lithium-ion chemistry and specifications.
• Do not expose batteries to excessive heat, moisture or physical impact.
• Follow the device and battery manufacturers' instructions for charging, installation and replacement.
